I wish a picture could let you hear him giggle and hear the things he says that are so funny, sweet, smart, and everything that he is! He is not the little boy that you will see in the pictures below. Watching him grow over the past year has brought me joy like no other. And the fact that I can look at him and say you are just like your daddy or Jason can say you are acting like your mommy, well, it just melts my heart. Because he is a Carney, but if you talk to my dad he would say he's Attebery ;) It's such an honor and blessing to be his mother, yes, even when he's crying or not being a good listener, I love him more than I ever knew I could!

A year ago today, (below of course :) this was us as we were about to leave the orphanage. We were on the second floor standing in front of the couch that we would sit on everyday waiting on them to bring him out from the room that you see on the right side of the picture.

I was telling him how we were leaving #20 and soon would be starting our lives on Attebery Rd. I can remember being so overwhelmed with emotions yet to excited to let the tears just flow!

And here we are standing outside, our last time to walk through those bars and away from there!
It's so hard to believe that a year ago is when we officially became a family of 3! Today we celebrate Gotcha' Day! For those of you who aren't sure what it is, well, it's the day that an adopted child joins their family and you celebrate it every year! I copied the following from what I posted on the blog on Gotcha Day last year...
All in all this day has been pretty awesome. We're almost to the end of this 2 year 4 month paper trail yet this is only the beginning of the rest of our lives together. Plane tickets over $7,000, drivers in Moscow $100 per day, passports and visas over $1,000, Hudson Luke Carney-PRICELESS! I feel like the Sara Evans song, "Every prayer has been answered, every dream I've had has come true. Right here in this moment is right where I'm meant to be. Here with you, here with me. And I could not ask for more."
I've said this before but I'll say it again, I don't even remember what life was like before Hudson. I'm so thankful God is in control and knit us 3 together just the way Hudson was knit just for us in his birthmothers womb. This child was made for us, we couldn't have done a better job ourselves!
And today is also Meme's birthday so tonight we will celebrate both Hudson's Gotcha' Day and Meme's birthday with a meal prepared my me and Aunt Casey. We're all gonna somehow squeeze into our little house! Love grows best in little houses, though, right!?
