Gotcha' Day pictures and some extra

Hanging with Dad! So yes, their eyes look alike and their hair the same color but you'll see below that if there is only one thing he and I have in common with our looks it's that our hair has a mind of it's own!!!

So all the pictures above this point were taken on Gotcha' Day and the others were taken on Tuesday night. Just want to be sure to note this for when I look back on it one day!

I had to get the camera out real quick to get this shot, it was just too cute not to!

Kissing sweet Andy Rooney Griffith!

He was trying to hug Andy but looks like he was putting him in a headlock instead and as you scroll down you'll see that Hudson took him down...

So Andy just made a pillow of Hudson!

And then Andy decided he would just sleep like this for a while!
Be sure to scroll down to the next post to see the last of the Christmas pictures.

Christmas at Granny Head's

Aren't they both cute!

I liked both of these pictures of us so I figured I'd just post them both!

He loves riding with Granny in her little scooter chair!

Three grandaughters on the Head side, Tracy, Casey, and me!

My beautiful little cousin Alli
So these are the last installments of Christmas. I know I posted a lot of pictures but, hey, it was our first Christmas home and together, and it was so much fun!

Gotcha'!

I wish a picture could let you hear him giggle and hear the things he says that are so funny, sweet, smart, and everything that he is! He is not the little boy that you will see in the pictures below. Watching him grow over the past year has brought me joy like no other. And the fact that I can look at him and say you are just like your daddy or Jason can say you are acting like your mommy, well, it just melts my heart. Because he is a Carney, but if you talk to my dad he would say he's Attebery ;) It's such an honor and blessing to be his mother, yes, even when he's crying or not being a good listener, I love him more than I ever knew I could!

A year ago today, (below of course :) this was us as we were about to leave the orphanage. We were on the second floor standing in front of the couch that we would sit on everyday waiting on them to bring him out from the room that you see on the right side of the picture.

I was telling him how we were leaving #20 and soon would be starting our lives on Attebery Rd. I can remember being so overwhelmed with emotions yet to excited to let the tears just flow!

And here we are standing outside, our last time to walk through those bars and away from there!

It's so hard to believe that a year ago is when we officially became a family of 3! Today we celebrate Gotcha' Day! For those of you who aren't sure what it is, well, it's the day that an adopted child joins their family and you celebrate it every year! I copied the following from what I posted on the blog on Gotcha Day last year...

All in all this day has been pretty awesome. We're almost to the end of this 2 year 4 month paper trail yet this is only the beginning of the rest of our lives together. Plane tickets over $7,000, drivers in Moscow $100 per day, passports and visas over $1,000, Hudson Luke Carney-PRICELESS! I feel like the Sara Evans song, "Every prayer has been answered, every dream I've had has come true. Right here in this moment is right where I'm meant to be. Here with you, here with me. And I could not ask for more."

I've said this before but I'll say it again, I don't even remember what life was like before Hudson. I'm so thankful God is in control and knit us 3 together just the way Hudson was knit just for us in his birthmothers womb. This child was made for us, we couldn't have done a better job ourselves!

And today is also Meme's birthday so tonight we will celebrate both Hudson's Gotcha' Day and Meme's birthday with a meal prepared my me and Aunt Casey. We're all gonna somehow squeeze into our little house! Love grows best in little houses, though, right!?

Christmas Morning

Spur staps Jason gave me, they're perfect! Pink crosses! I also got diamond earrings, bunt cake pan, 3 books, new highlighter and pens, and my favorite burt's bess chapstick (3 of them)! Good man!

On Christmas morning Jason got 2 suit coats and a full suit plus 3 new ties! He definitely got the hook up on clothes this year and doesn't have to wear the same 2 suits to school every week.

This is how you read the paper when a two year old is stuck to your lap!

He's really into apples here lately.
Christmas morning was fun. Jason, Hudson, and I exchanged gifts. This was the first Christmas in years that Jason and I have exchanged and he did very well, he's more observant than I give him credit for. Hudson received some gifts we had been buying over the past years in anticipation for a little country boy and thankfully he is! Then we went down to Hoss and Meme's where Meme cooks breakfast every year.

Christmas Eve with the Attebery's

These pictures go backwards since the first ones are from around 10:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve when Will, Casey, Mom, Dad, and us exchange gifts. We did this at our house this year. I love my family because they make me laugh! I have so much fun with them.

I think this should be their Christmas card next year!!

We were cracking up because he was grunting as he tried to open this!

This is one of my favorite pics out of the hundreds I took. He scooted himself around by Uncle Will and sat just like him, it was too cute!

These pictures start Christmas Eve at my parents where it was all the folks I talked about above plus my Meemaw, Uncle Steve, Uncle David and Aunt Tracie and their kids Cody and Courtney.

The next two pictures are of him dancing with his dumptruck that dances and does all sorts of tricks, we were rolling!

I love this picture of my Meemaw. No one holds a candle to my Meemaw, she's amazing, and there's no telling where I'd be without her influence! And my baby adores her too, he's a smart little man!

My new scarf! I'm into scarves this year for some reason!

Daddy's girls!

High five to Cody!
