uuugggghhh!

Sorry I haven't updated the blog in the past few days. I have been sick and finally caved yesterday and went to the Dr. I don't know why I wait until it gets so bad I can hardly function. My sweet Granny sat in the car with Hudson while I went in and then while I had my prescriptions filled. I have a horrible sinus infection, they gave me 3 prescriptions and a nasal spray. I'm feeling a little better today but one of the meds made me so sick to my stomach that I could hold nothing down so I think that's why I'm feeling so weak today.

So Hudson and I are just hanging out today, Emily is going to teach my lessons this afternoon and I'm just going to rest because we are hosting a horse show here on Saturday and I'm going to need all the energy I can muster up!

Enough about me...Jason has to be the best man in the world. He has taken such good care of me and Hudson these past few days. He washed a load of clothes (they are overflowing at this point), he did put the fabric softener where the detergent goes but that's okay :) And he also started the dishwasher for the first time! I told him to get the cascade packet and put it in. He cut the packet up and tried to put it in that way! At least we got a good laugh out of it :) I'm so proud of him for taking care of us the way he does and managing his business and school work, he's pretty awesome!

Hudson's latest thing is talking about the front end loader on the tractor. Hoss has taught him how to use the bucket lifter thing and so everyday at least 100 times a day I here, "Lift it up, dump it out, roll it over, and put it down."

Chattanooga!

We spent Friday and Saturday in Chattanooga haning out with Aunt Casey and Uncle Will. Friday night we went to P.F. Changs for my birthday, it was sooo good! Casey and Will have a cute little house and a big fenced in back yard for their 2 labs and life seems great for the newlyweds. We have all the pics from the wedding now so I will post some more of them later this week.

Ah, the joy of having a sister. Don't know what I would do without her!

We spent Saturday afternoon at the Aquarium, it was pretty cool. My favorite were the otters and the sea turtle. Hudson seemed to like the turtles and fish the best. He and I were both exhausted after a night of little sleep so after we left we went back to the house and took a 2 1/2 hour nap while Casey, Will, Jason, and Meemaw made a trip to Wal-Mart.

Andy is doing well and I think he enjoyed his visit to Chattanooga, too, because he was able to see his sister Belle and his buddy, Brody. Almost all of the swelling is gone now and he is doing much better being in the house all the time than I thought he would.

Thursday

Andy came home yesterday. Half of his butt and leg are shaved and he is looking pretty goofy. Other than that he is doing great. He's having a hard time figuring out how to go potty but I'm sure it will take him no time to get the hang of it :) He seems to still be his happy self, this morning when I walked around the corner and he could see me (he was in the kitchen), he was wagging his tail so fast I thought he was going to break his other leg! We've had to keep an eye on Hudson because, well, he just loves laying all over Andy.


I'm looking forward to this weekend, we have lots of plans and I'll take my camera and have plenty of pictures to post next week!


Hudson has slept past 9:00 for the past few days. I think this rainy weather and sun coming up later has effected us all, I love it!!

Last night he was laying on me on the couch (if I'm sitting, he's somewhere on top of me-love it!) and I was reading about another adoption that is in the works, it just really tugged at my heart. All those emotions aren't that far behind me that I can't instantly go back to them. I told Hudson, "Did you know you are adopted, and you grew in Mommy's heart." When I said it I put my hand over my heart. Then I asked him, "Where did you grow?" He put his hand over my heart and said "heart". Whew! I'm one blessed lady!

I keep telling people, I'll get Hudson to laugh, you look and me and DON'T look at Hudson. It doesn't work. Adults are harder to take pictures of than kids, I've decided. However, I really like the way the picture turned out above.

Another Andy Update

Andy had surgery this morning and it went well. He has pins in his left leg and there was one part of the bone that they took out because they couldn't repair it and so they took it out and put the two clean breaks together. So his left hind leg will be a little shorter then the rest. I am hoping that I get to pick him up tomorrow before I start teaching. I won't know anything until tomorrow. But I think Foxxy misses him already and even Jason asked me last night where Andy was. I looked at him like he was crazy and then the light bulb went off in his head and he remembered.

I just hope I can keep him calm and well contained for these 6 weeks that he has to stay up. We'll see!

Andy Update

So Andy is at the vet and he for sure has a broken femur. I will know this afternoon how badly it's broken, they were going to get some of the swelling down and then take x-rays. He's spending the night at the vet, poor thing, he was so pitiful when we left him. Hudson kept asking, "Where'd Andy go?"

I'm hoping the break is not a bad one. If it is a clean break he'll still have to have pins put in. I'm afraid if it is bad then I might have them go ahead and amputate it because my sisters dog Brody, had the same thing happen to him this summer and he went through several surgeries and is still not right and it's cost a fortune. But until I know for sure, just gonna hope and pray it's not a bad break and my Andy will have a quick recovery. I'm just glad regardless of what we have to do to him he's going to be okay and it's not any worse. And I know my poor dad feels awful :(

Hey everybody, I have some really cute pics of Hudson with his grandparents and great-grandmothers from dinner tonight celebrating Grandparents Day. But that's not what's on my mind. You all know my awesome dog, Andy (the yellow lab). He was accidentally ran over tonight when my parents came home. I'm taking him to the vet first thing in the morning. His back left leg/hip is for sure broken but I won't know how bad it is until we get there. I hope it's not bad and will heal back quickly and also not cost us an arm and a leg. I'll keep you posted on what's going on and hopefully Andy and I will both be able to sleep tonight. I feel so awful for him. A little prayer for him is greatly appreciated.

Aunt Casey Time

I love this one!

He's so funny and anytime I'm in the floor, he has to be all over me! He felt the same way about Aunt Casey the night they came home!

We had a great weekend, Will and Casey came home as you can see (and I think I talked about it for the last few posts :) Casey babysat for us on Saturday night and Jason took me on a date! We went to PF Changs and it was wonderful, then we went and got Hudson a halloween costume (he's gonna be so cute), and we also saw The Proposal-cute movie!

Sunday afternoon the Head's came over to Meme and Hoss' so we hung out down there after church. Monday I worked in the morning so we had the afternoon off. Jason wrote a paper then we went to Pulix, ah the joy of being an ol' married lady ;)

This week has went by fast and last night at church we had an intro. night to our new women's Bible study that will officially start next Wed. I'm very excited about it, it's gonna be a good one. Anointed, Transformed, and Redeemed By: Priscilla Shirer, Beth Moore, and Kay Arthur. If you want to come, we'd love to have you!!

Hudson gets to watch dvd's in the car and there is a Leap Frog, Phonics one that he loves (thanks Cydil). He has been sounding everything out after watching this video several times. He says, "M m m Mommy" "D d d Daddy" My favorite one is "k k kuck" (aka truck). I try not to laugh when he gets confused and says something like "D d d Hoss", it's pretty cute though!

He's also counting just a little more. He's so funny because the #4 is such a let down. He says, "one, two, thrrreeee", then pauses for a second and finally says "four" then a lot of times he skips to six, but hey, pretty good for a kid who just turned 2!

He loves to sing and asks me at least 100 times a day to sing the Veggie Tales theme song. A few of this other favorites are This Little Light of Mine, Zacheaus, Deep and Wide. He also gets a kick out of us doing the hokey pokey. He's like a little sponge, just absorbing everything!

I thought it was so cute (not Jason's leg) how Andy crawled under their legs and Hudson used his head as a foot stool!

So I've posted a ton of pictures here lately but no real update. There's been lots going on. I'll start with Jason...let me just get right to the point...he started school this week at the Free Will Baptist Bible College, majoring in Pastoral Ministries. Whew, I knew God had something big coming but this was HUGE. I think we have both been excited and a nervous but I'm looking forward to what God has in store for our family. I'm very proud of Jason and I know He can do this with Christ's strength, we can do this! He's going to school 2 days per week and is working the other 4. Still has a crew running the mowing part of the business so hopefully everything will keep running smoothly.

Hudson is still growing like a week. My tall, skinny boy! He talks non stop. I constantly hear "Mommy, where's the tractor (or whatever he's looking for)." He usually knows where it is and says, "There it is!" He will ask me what I'm doing, etc. Lots of questions. Of course sometimes I'm the only one who knows what he's saying and sometimes I don't even know because he gets so carried away, but I think he is doing great making sentences and all his little questions and statements. I think the cutest thing is his accent, it's so country and some of his words he really puts a southern drawl on them.

He's really into going peepee in the grass. I think it's making potty training fun for him and easier on me. He'll ask me to pee pee on the rock, leaf, tree, etc. It's so funny, but hey, if it works, I'm all for it!

"Ain't Casey and Unc Will" are coming home this weekend and I cannot wait!! Hudson is the cutest thing saying their names and he gets on the phone and tells her "Miss you" "come home". We are going to go down sometime this month and stay the weekend with them. I'm excited about going to the aquarium.

When he's upset he'll say "Hudson cryin" and then proceed to burst out in tears or he'll say it in the midst of a cry.

He cracks me up, I just love his little personality. I don't think you can be around him for a second or two without smiling. I was laughing at him yesterday and he started laughing and said "Hudson funny".

He is still obsessed with tractors and knows more equipment than I do. Is that sad when your 2 year old knows more than his country to the core Mama!?

He's going to be so excited when we pick up his seat to go on my bicycle. He rode in one with me while we were in Florida and loved it so I've ordered him and I'm hoping wal-mart has it in tomorrow.

I've been working out for a few months now on the elliptical and decided to try running. I haven't been able to run successfully since surgery on both of my legs in college (I had exertional compartment syndrome). Before this I was a cross country runner and basketball player. I love to run and have tried several times but my legs just couldn't do it. But this time around seems different. I've been rotating between the bike, elliptical, and running and I've had 3 successful 20 min. runs so far! I am so excited and just praise the Lord! I guess I'll be doing more biking, though, since Hudson is going to be able to do that with me.

Need Your Help...

I'm going to wait and post the last of vacation pics tomorrow because I have something else on my mind. I need some tips/help from you. There is a dear couple at church that we've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past few years who is starting a domestic adoption. They have all of their paperwork finished but are about $1500 short for the fee to move on to the next step. We will need to raise an additional $2,000 but this is not due until a later date. My question for all of you who have adopted (and those of you who haven't but are good at raising money) and know how expensive it is...do you have any small fundraisers that might could raise that money in a short amount of time? We had a big fundraiser day but I evolved it around my horse business and it was a hit but I'm thinking for this first amount we need something quick and easy and then at a later date do something a little bigger.

I am still humbled when I think about how many people helped us bring Hudson home. $50,000 is a lot to come up with but not when my Jesus steps in, He provided every single penny at just the right time and many of those dollars came from you guys reading this. Jason and I are FOREVER thankful for your generous hearts. I know the Lord will provide the same way for Cam and Molly and in His time but I also believe we have to step out there and be willing to work hard for it and they're willing. I cannot wait to see His plans for their family, adoption is the most beautiful thing! Especially since I'm adopted, I'm a child of the King!
