This is our latest member of Treasure 2 Farm. He was born Monday morning at 10:04. He doesn't have a name yet because the students and their families are writing names on the board at the barn and next week everyone will vote so I'll let you know what his name is. But a few of my favorites so far are Samson (because he's so big) and I also like Augustus (Lonesome Dove is one of the best movies EVER!)!!

To give you an idea of how big he is his mother's back is around 5.2 feet.

This morning after everyone was fed I pulled Cotton (he's in for training) out of his stall to ride him. I normally never let Hudson close to the horses unless if I am right there especially with horses in for training because most of them are young (Cotton is 3). But he is extremely sweet and was being so careful with Hudson I stepped back and grabbed my camera and had so much fun taking pictures of those two! These are my new favorites!

Sunday

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Things have been busy and emotional. Busy: Yesterday was the longest I have ever been away from Hudson. Lauren, Jordan, and myself went to Bowling Green to a horse show. Jordan showed in Ranch Riding and won first place and Lauren showed in Ranch Riding and Ranch Reining, she won first place in ranch reining. They have been working so hard and they really deserved it. I did not show because the horse I've been training to show had an abcess and had to take 2 weeks off. But this fellow was having a hard time with his horse and I rode it for him and now he is bringing the horse in for training tomorrow. So it was a great day for Treasure 2 Farm.

Jason had mommy duty all morning. He thought he was going to be able to do some work, run some errands, and have Hudson fed, potty, and down for a nap all in a matter of 2-3 hours! I told him that it wasn't going to happen but some things are better left to learn on your own! At 2:00 I called and Hudson was just eating lunch (usually he would have been asleep for close to 2 hours). I had to giggle at Jason saying he had gotten nothing done-he had just taken a walk in my shoes!! My wonderfully amazing Meemaw came down here while Hudson slept and then watched him until I got home. Jason's best friend, Ben, is getting married this coming Saturday and some guys got together and grilled out down by Ben's creek so Jason didn't get the full day of being Mr. Mom.

But Jason gets 2 thumbs up because this morning I had to bake for church and he woke up and did breakfast for Hudson, potty, dressed him, and got him and everything else in the car! We had homecoming today and y'all know I'm NOT a morning person but I had fed 24 horses and been to HG Hill's and back before 8:00. Then I baked 4 batches of cookies and made some cheddar cheese biscuits before church. Take that Martha Stewart!

Emotional: Our pastor resigned on Wednesday and I'm not going to lie, my stomach fell into my feet when our associate pastor announced it. Jason and I started going to Bethel together a little over 6 years ago, it's a very special place. And the people are like family. When you spend Sunday morning and afternoon and Wednesday night with these people every week you just love them and you grow with them. And Jason does Tuesday night visitation and also has Trustee meetings and sometimes I think more time is spent with our church family than with our blood family. And this was a shock, a very unexpected shock, but I know God has big plans for Bethel and we will press on. God's not only in our present but he's in the future and we're going to be alright. I'm ready to be ready to put my foot forward and to look forward to the plans God has for me, my family, and our church!

We are going to take Hudson to the creek this afternoon when he wakes up and I'll take the camera and hopefully get some cute pics!!

MUD!

I took these pictures with my phone this morning while we were at the barn. Yesterday he lost his shoe in this same mud puddle. Today he plopped down in it after stomping around and rolling his tractor through it. I still had one more horse to ride so he then went out into the arena and sat/played in the sand. Needless to say my washing machine is full of muddy clothes (today and yesterdays).

Before Hudson I used to think about certain things all the time, some of you might think I'm goofy and most of you know that I just am. I used to dream about playing in the mud and him getting dirty. As long as he's not in his church clothes then I don't mind. With what me and Jason do for a living we stay dirty. The other day Hudson was in the arena and was picking up handfuls of sand and putting them on his head and saying "yaaahhh". Most of the time when we leave the barn he's muddy or has sand caked all over his face (especially where he drools :) So far I'm loving this little boy stuff.

The other thing I used to think constantly about...Mine and Jason's closet is in Hudson's room. Every Sunday I used to think about sneaking past his crib while he was still asleep and picking out our Sunday clothes. Crazy, I know, but this past Sunday he was still sleeping when I went to get my clothes and I tip toed past his crib, got the clothes, looked at him sleeping, and then snuck back out. I just re-read this paragraph and realize how goofy it sounds but oh well. When you wait for 2 years and 4 months for your child you think about all kinds of little things and then when those dreams become reality you step back, take a deep breath, and thank the Lord! His grace is sufficient for me.

Busted Lip

Even though he's had it rough he's still my happy boy :)

The outside looks much better than the inside which is where the gash is from his teeth. I couldn't get a pic. of his gums, it just wasn't worth it. But they are purple and especially dark right around his front two teeth. I just hope his teeth don't turn dark because of this, the dentist said that might happen, but hopefully not.

His bath cheered him up last night and then he played some. I didn't give him any tylenol because I was pretty sure he would wake up in the night and I would give him some then. Around 11:30 he woke up and I gave him some tylenol which did the trick and he seemed to sleep well after that, although his sheets had blood all over them this morning (the dentist said it would bleed a lot). Me on the other hand, woke up quite a few times to check on him.

I had to wake him up this morning and he was pitiful. I couldn't get out of arms reach without the most pitiful "Mama" you've ever heard. I usually have a hard time being sympathetic but not this morning. He finally perked up when we went down to the barn, then he had a big time.

Tomorrow we were suposed to go to Monkey Joe's with Tiffany and Jordin but we are going to postpone that because I don't want him to re-bust his lip.

On another note: I AM SICK OF CHICKENS BEING IN MY KITCHEN! I think I'm going finish the coop myself. I know Jason is very busy and that is a good thing, I love having a hard working man, but he doesn't understand what's it's like for a Martha Stewart wanna be to have to share her kitchen with 23 little chickens (they're in a big storage bin in front of my oven).

First Big Booboo

We had our first scare this afternoon and what we thought was going to be a trip to the ER but thank the Lord it wasn't. When we were walking into church tonight going down a little hill, Hudson fell on the asphalt and caught himself with his mouth. He has a bottom lip that is busted up pretty good and his top two teeth seem to be pushed back a little. There was a lot of blood and it took it about an hour to finally stop bleeding. Thankfully we go to church with some really awesome people. Beth who called her pediatric dentist, Angie who is a nurse and also made a few calls, Jamie who is also a nurse helped us out, Carrie gave us moral support :) We were going to take him to the emergency room because that is what the pediatrician suggested then we talked to the dentist, Dr. McNutt, who was extremely reassuring and gave us lots of information. Pretty much, his teeth will readjust (they're not that bad anyways) and he could close his mouth and his top teeth were still in front of his bottom teeth so they wouldn't need readjusting. We fed him yogurt and applesauce because they are both cold and we couldn't exactly get him to keep ice on. He's now in the bathtub playing and is as happy as could be. When we fed him we let him watch some veggie tales which also made him happy.

Jason was behind us when it happened. I thought I was holding his hand but he said I wasn't, but I still feel awful because I was next to him and didn't catch him. It scared me because when I picked him up all I saw was blood. Hopefully he'll sleep good and this won't bother him too bad, he sucks on his fingers when he sleeps. I'm sure he'll be sore tomorrow so say a little prayer for him.

Tax Day

Whew today is busy. Sorry I don't have any pics to post.

Hudson slept until 9:15 and then we quickly fed horses here and at a friend's house that's out of town. Then had to get to the P.O. to mail off our savings to the IRS :( Stinks when you are both business owners. Had to go to the banks and then we went and visited our friend, Donna.

Donna was ready for Hudson! She had a basket with trucks and tractors and he really enjoyed himself. She also sent him with a horse that he neighed at I don't know how many times!

Although today is tax day, which I do not like. But I am thankful my sister-in-law is a CPA (love ya' Jeanna :) It's going much better than yesterday, which was rough! Hudson had a hard time at lunch, then bit his lip, laid down for his nap later than normal, so I had to wake him up so I wouldn't be late for lessons, and it was frrreezzzing!

I have a mare who is due to foal probably sometime next week so I'm sure I'll be busy getting up in the middle of the night to check on her unless she is nice enough to foal during the day. Which is rare but she did that for me one year! I'm not looking forward to little sleep but I am looking forward to a new foal!

We had a good Easter! Took these pics before church, I felt really rushed and they weren't as good as I was hoping but it's hard to keep a 20 months old attention and get him to smile 100x's! He had a busy day and took an 2 1/2 hour nap (I took an hour and a half nap).

Hoss bought 19 more chickens and 2 have died so we have 23 chickens in my kitchen! This is not my idea of having chickens but Jason should have their coop finished tomorrow-thank goodness!

Hudson ate about 8 bites of sausage and 6 bites of bacon tonight along with egg and pancake. He didn't take forever to chew and he swallowed great. He also had corn and dressing yesterday that he liked. He seems to be sick and tired of mashed potatoes. And honestly, I am sick and tired of making them!

This week is busy and my business is booming, which is such a praise item. God is so good! I'm teaching 43 students per week and have a new horse in for training with another scheduled to come in soon so that puts me up to 4 clients horses to ride per day and 3 of my own. Whew! I'm tired just thinking about it, but so thankful!
