Easter Egg Hunt

Chickens
You know I'm a daddy's girl but I have officially been booted! When he came in with them yesterday I said, "I've always wanted chickens." (And my Dad has always known this.) But I was corrected! "These are Hudson's chickens!" Maybe I should tell him Hudson wants a new saddle for when he's older so we better get him a size 16, I bet that's what size he'll need when he's a teenager! Or maybe Hudson needs one of those mule things (you know that look like a mix between a 4-wheeler and a golf cart), but Hudson wants one with a dump bed on it so he can easily dump manuer out of it! I think I'm just going to make a list of Hudson's wants and put it on Hoss' pillow ;)
I plan on having lots of pics for Monday because I am so excited about this weekend and I'm going to be crazy mom with a camera! He has his first Easter Egg hunt tomorrow morning at our church. There will be over 4,000 eggs and lots of games so everyone reading this blog should come on Saturday morning from 10:30-noon to Bethel Church on Moseley Ferry Road (e-mail me for directions). And then of course Sunday is Easter and ya'll know I'm no fashion expert, but I do have us some cute outfits and we will all be matching. So Mandy, I'm sorry for always picking on you guys for matching your clothes because now I'm doing it :) You know I love ya'!
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. I have been studying and very curious about Jewish customs and I think that we as a family are going to have our own Easter traditions because I don't want Easter to be about the Easter bunny and lots of gifts, etc. I like the idea of Passover meal and I think it would be a good way to learn/teach more about the last supper. Easter is so much more than putting on a pretty outfit and going to church. This is when my Savior ate the passover meal and washed their feet and then left for the Kidron Valley, taking every step, knowing what was coming, but pressing on for me and you towards his brutal death. The beating he took, the mocking, I think I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it. And the thorns on his head. You know, I was in the woods hiding easter eggs this past week and got a briar in my hand. I'm no sissy but it stung and I immediately pulled it out and rubbed it. But I gotta tell you, it was tiny! Can you imagine wearing a crown of thorns, if one little thorn feels like that, what would many feel like? I'm sure the blood dripped off His chin as they pressed into his flesh. And that was my sin that held Him on that cross, mine. He did all of this for me, I don't deserve this. He did all of this for all of us! And death could not defeat Him-praise God! This is what Easter is all about! Our Savior arose from the grave on that third day, and He lives! I know it because He lives in my heart and I hope He's in your heart, too! Happy Easter!

20 months old
But my sweet little baby is turning into a wild child! I thought he and Jason had very similar personalities but I think I'm really rubbing off on him!
Meme got him these rabbits that sing and dance, there are three of them, and if I hear "Here comes Peter Cotton Tail" one more time I think I'm going to scream :) Anyways, he was playing with one of them and I guess it started singing and he didn't want it to so he gave it this really dirty look, shook his head no, and then wacked it. I had to turn my head and laugh.
He has also heard/seen Jason spit way too much! I have caught him leaning over the edge of my clothes hamper hocking (or however you spell it) and spitting, he does it over the edge of buckets, really anywhere he sees fit.
He is climbing on everything and can get on his rocking horse by himself. If he can't get up on something he drags his bean bag up to it and uses it like a step.
I am amazed everyday by the words he is saying and how quickly he is learning things. I am just about out of animal noises to teach him and he knows so many of his body parts, we are now working on colors. We started yesterday and are working on blue and purple. I can communicate soooo much better with him because he understands so much and knows what so many things are, I love it!
Last thing, I know this is getting lengthy, Martha Stewart is on right now and a while ago he was laying in my lap playing with a bear and they showed a finished product and her tasting it. The audience said, "oooooooooohhhhhhhhhh" and Hudson popped up and said "oooooooohhhhhhhhh"! Now if I can only get him to say that when he eats my food! :)

Weekend
He had an off weekend on sleep, not going to bed until almost 11:00 for two nights and then waking up at his normal time or earlier. It must have finally hit him because this morning he slept until 9:00.
We are doing Easter Egg hunts on horseback for lessons this week so that should be fun if the girls that ride on Monday and Tuesday's don't freeze!

Morning with the Carney's
Every morning I wish I had my camera because I always miss a cute picture. So for the past 2 mornings I took my camera to the barn and took some cute pics.
Here's how our mornings go...he wakes up sometime between 8-8:30. He eats and uses the potty then I tell him we are going to ride the 4-wheeler. He perks up, pooches his lips out, and says, "Oooohhhh"! It's so cute! When we get down there I know my horses are wanting to give me a big lecture because it used to take me about 20 minutes to feed 20 of them, now it takes me double that if not more.
I feed the cats first and he has to go visit them. I have to watch Cross Eyed Casper because he doesn't like to be messed with during breakfast. Then we ride the 4-wheeler around and feed/hay all the horses. He has a big time and pushes all the buttons on the 4-wheeler. He already knows how to start it. Thankfully his legs are going to have to grow about 3 feet before he can put it in gear! After everyone is fed I usually ride a horse in for training. Hudson has his own play section in the arena where he gets lost in truck/tractor world. He plays while I ride and then he gets on the horse with me when it's time to cool down. So, that's our mornings in a nut shell.
Aunt Casey is 22 years old today so we will be spending the late afternoon with her and the family. My mom always makes us a cake and cooks whatever we request. Casey has asked for breakfast, so ya'll say a little prayer that Hudson will eat some different food tonight :)
