October Pics...

I'm such a blog slacker, but these are a few more cute pics from October. Jason uses our computer with all the pics on it and I don't get my hands on it very often so that's my excuse for lack of posts lately :)

Halloween...

I didn't get to take many pics at our church's trunk or treat because I was chasing around a cute little strawberry, but this is Hudson's best buddy at church, Bradley. We are very thankful that he has a friend in him.

The boys worked hard on carving pumpkins. Hudson loved it and was so proud. He wasn't sure about getting the gross stuff out but once he stuck his hand in, I think it was his favorite part. We spent the afternoon visiting family and then we came home, laid Hollynn down for a nap and I pulled Hudson around in the red wagon to some of the neighbors to trick or treat. I'm not crazy about living in a subdivision, but I did think it was cool to live in one on Halloween.

I can't believe my baby is one! We had a great birthday party this past Saturday to celebrate her and Granny Head who turned 86 last Thurs. I thought it would be cool one day for her to look back on her first birthday and me tell her about how special the lady is that she almost shared a birthday with. Their cakes were awesome! We went with the cow birthday cake for Hollynn because, thanks to Hoss' daily four wheeler rides, she LOVES cows. It was her first taste of anything sweet and of course, she loved it! She got way too many presents but has had a blast playing with all of them, although nothing seems to rival the turned over clothes basket that she uses to climb up and down off of the couch with these days. This girl loves to climb and I've watched her get up on our couch a few times without using anything to step up on to.

We are so blessed with our beautiful, sassy, funny, sweet baby girl. Happy 1st Hollynn!

Yes, that is the pile of laundry I was folding when she decided my sports bra was the best toy ever. Since this day, any time she can get her hands on some clothes she tries to put them on and carries them everywhere!

These pics are several weeks old, but thought some were too cute not to share. Hudson doesn't care to have his picture taken here lately so there's lots more of baby girl. I'll give a little update on all of us since it's been so long since I've said much.

Jason has been so busy with school and work. Uncle Will runs Carney Lawn Care very well, and we are so thankful because Jason has not been able to do much there except paperwork. Once his night class is over I think it will be a little easier. The youth group has grown in leaps and bounds, like one of our first Wed. nights ther were 3. Now we have over 20 on Wed. nights. We have seen over 17 youth give their lives to Christ in the last month, it's amazing! It's humbling, it's completely awesome. My favorite thing about Jason is in the middle of all of this, he prayed one night... Lord, let me hide behind the cross. I love that man! And I love that he does hide behind the cross! He just came back from a youth retreat this past weekend and has something every weekend. Busy, but great!

I have been busy with the kids. Hudson does preschool/kindergarden work everymorning after breakfast for about an hour-1 1/2 hrs. I love it most days! Hollynn, keeps me on my toes! We are in a good routine, have I ever mentioned I love routine! The barn has been busy, still training and teaching. I have a fantastic group of students. I said I wouldn't let my lessons get back up past 25 since Hollynn is still young but I'm back over 30, but the girls (and 2 boys) I teach don't make it feel like a job most of the time. The Lord has blessed me with a great career of mom and trainer!

Hudson still loves his "school work" and goes once per week for 2 hours with a homeschool group of about 10 other kids his age and enjoys all the activities they do. We have been memorizing sight words and he has over 20 memorized. We've also been working on writing, which has improved so much here lately. His favorite thing to do right now is the connect the dots by number. I have been building tents like crazy here lately as he is fascinated with going camping, of course his gun is always in the tent so he can protect me and Hollynn and kill the raccoons, lions, frogs, anything really! I told Jason he will have to take him camping one night, because I do NOT sleep outside.

Hollynn recently moved to her own room and the transition for the most part has been good. I actually am enjoying it very much b/c now we don't have to tip toe around down stairs. She has been walking now for over 3 weeks and has earned her share of bumps and bruises and I'm sure there are many more in store. Her favorite thing to do is right with her Hoss on the 4wheeler. I mean, she will try to jump out of your arms to get to him when he's on it. She loves cows (this is what they go look at), and she will moo if she sees or hears you mention a cow. She loves cats, dogs, and horses as well, and squeals at the sight of them.

I hear prissy talking in her bed so better run!

Sorry I'm such a slacker, life has been so busy. Hollynn is walking everywhere and still my cuddle bug. Hudson is so tall, smart, and turning into a little man. Jason has been so busy with school and church. October is slammed and I'm looking forward to Nov. and a short get away with just the 4 of us and hopefully limited cell phone service! My baby girl turns one in less than a week, where has time gone?

Hannah update, she goes to the ortho. dr. tomorrow. The past few times I have seen her she has been in good spirits, she looks great. Gina starts the trial drugs soon. They are both home. Not sure when Hannah will start pt and hopefully she will get to do it from home, just don't know yet. Thanks for all your prayers, keep praying for them!

Hannah :)

I went last night to see Hannah and am so thrilled to report that she looks AWESOME! I just wanted to jump over and give her a big hug. She was sitting up in her bed, talking, smiling, happy, goofy, the Hannah I am used to seeing. We signed her cast(s) and delivered lots of cards. She will get to come home way sooner than expected. She's pumped to get back on a horse and I told her as soon as she was able she's coming to hang out at the barn, which made us all very happy.

Tuesday

I didn't go to the hospital tonight, it is a rough night for her, so please pray for her as she processed everything. I am hoping tomorrow is a better day and I can visit her then. On a positive note: Her surgery on her right leg did go good!

Also, Hollynn started walking today! Happy Birthday to me :)

Monday Update

Hannah's surgery will be in the morning at either 7 or 10. She's ready to get it over with!

Very awesome news: Gina met with dr.'s at Sarah Cannon center and made it into the trial! Yay! She will have a week more of radiation and then a 10 day period to 'clean out' then will start the trial.

I am going to visit tomorrow afternoon so I will update again tomorrow night.

Hannah update

I'm going to be updating the blog on Hannah for the next little bit because there are so many people praying and wanting to know how she is, this seems like it would be easier than sending emails, fb, and texts to so many.

Meemaw and I went up Sat. afternoon and it was so good to see her smile. She did wake up yesterday and we talked for about 1o min. until she went back to sleep. She could whisper and nod her head. She gave me several smiles when I was being my normal corny self. She is so ready to get her right leg operated on so that she can start getting better. Typical Hannah!
She has a plate put in her right knee on Tuesday, so be in prayer specifically for that on Tuesday. An update on the surgeries she already had: she had 2 rods put in her left leg, for her tibia and fibula. She also had a screw put in her right wrist. She should be in Vanderbilt for several more weeks and then will move to a rehab facility. If there is not a rehab facility for her to go to then she will remain in Vanderbilt until she would be ready to go home. She is suposed to get her own room today and move out of critical care. I know this will be a big help b/c that gives her mom a couch to sleep on and their own bathroom and lots more room.
Pray for Brian's family as he is laid to rest today.
Gina goes tomorrow and meets with a Dr. about a clinical trial. Prayers that she can get into this are greatly appreciated.

I know this week at the barn will be hard for many of my girls. This has really shaken lots of them. Four went to see her today and I know more will be headed up over this coming week. We are going to spend this week in prayer and I'm sure I'll be answering lots of questions. I love that I have a tight knit group who genuinely care for each other and I know they are some bold prayer warriors! Let's all keep lifting up Hannah, Gina, and their family, thank you all so much.

Hannah...

For some of you, this may be a repeat, but I want to share this on the blog, the more people praying the better! I totally believe in the power of prayer and need you to join me on this one. You guys know how crazy I am about all of my students. I spend lots of time with them and we talk lots more than just horses! Some of these girls I see multiple times a week and most of them I text with on a regular basis, fb, etc. This isn't just a business! I'm crazy about most of these girls (yes, I said most! ha!). One in particular has been spending more time at the barn lately, looking at buying one of my favorite horses, CC. Hannah has been my student for over 3 1/2 years and here lately I have been praying and crying for her mother Gina, whose cancer that started out in her breasts and spread, recently spreading to her liver and spine. I just cry out to God, "Just say the word and she's healed. Your words are power, you don't even have to say it, just think it Lord, and it'll be done." We need a miracle here.

Well, Wednesday afternoon Hannah was involved in a bad wreck. Her father passed away. She was life flighted to Vanderbilt where she is still in critical care, but praise God, she is improving. She has yet to wake up, but thankfully, now it is induced. They have backed her sedation off a bit and she will raise her arm up every now and then. And just this morning she was taken off the ventilator and breathing on her own! Her lungs were bruised badly, but have improved so much, another praise! She had her left leg operated on yesterday and her right wrist. They wanted to also go ahead and operate on her right leg at the same time but her platelets were low so the Dr. was concerned about bleeding so her right knee will be operated on another day. She had to have a blood transfusion so I'm sure this had to do with a lot of it. She has a long road ahead of her physically for recovery, but will make a full recovery. I can't wait to see her run down to the barn again and her goofy self hug her lesson partner, Kamy, like they haven't seen each other in years. She does this every week and every week I tell them how they are such weirdo's! I can't wait to see her get on Daisy and jump the cross country course, or master her flying lead change. Riding horses is one of her favorite things and I'm glad it's only temporary that she won't be able to do it.

I already thought Hannah had too much on her for any 14 year old girl. Isn't being a teenager hard enough sometimes, who should see their mom go through a ferocious battle with cancer? And now one second she's riding down the road with Brian, and the next time she wakes, days will have passed and her dad is gone. Please pray for her mom as she prepares to tell Hannah this nightmare. Please pray for Gina as well as she continues her radiation. They moved it to Vandy and gave her a room to rest in so that she doesn't have to ever be far from Hannah. Please also pray specifically that she can get into this clinical trial coming up. Pray strength for her as her body was already weak. In that same thought, she is also very strong, please just pray. If there is any scripture that you would like to leave as a comment, I will include it in a book I am making for Hannah so that she will have pics of the horses and encouraging notes from us.
