First Date

...well, first play date. Tiffany and Jordin came over yesterday to play. Hudson enjoyed having another little person in the house and I enjoyed the adult conversation. I think I talked Tiffany's ear off! But hey, when your most conversations are with a 18 month old you enjoy interaction. Okay, I would have talked her ear off before Hudson but my excuse then would have been my conversations were mostly with dogs and horses :) Anyways, back to the little man, he is very kind with other kids and shares well. Jordin does, too, so yesterday was very enjoyable. He was exhausted after they left yesterday and fell asleep very quickly.
I think Tiff got some better pics than I did so I'll try to post some of hers when I can.
Tomorrow is a big day, his first hair cut (well, second, but first in my book). Don't panic, we're only getting a little cut off, he gets to keep the cute curls, but they're getting a little out of hand! I'll take pics and post them tomorrow.
Funny story...Ashlee's birthday party was on Sunday and I've talked on here a few times about Alli, her little sister, who has spent many of hours as my shadow. She decided the other day that she was going to help "babysit" Hudson at the party so she held his hand and they would walk around and look out the door, etc. She came up to me and said, "Lindsey, I think me and Hudson speak the same language...French!" Without skipping a beat she said, "uno, dos, tres!" I busted out laughing and said, "That's spanish!" It was hilarious :)

Texture Issues

Lots of people have been asking about Hudson's texture issues and they are getting much better. I've been hesitant to post about it because I figure I'll post about it and then the next day will not be good! But this past week I think we had some big break throughs. He ate 5 very small pieces of sausage and 2 small pieces of bacon one night and then another night he ate a baked potato and a few bites of eggs and he's enjoying cheese. I was so happy when he actually chewed very good and swallowed. It used to be swallow it whole or leave it in your cheeks forever. He is making tiny steps but I can see much improvement over the past month and a half-Praise God!

I received 2 cards from Jason for Valentine's Day, one was sweet and the other funny and he got me 2 organic gardening books. We usually don't get each other anything on Valentine's (or any other holiday) so I was very happy. Last year he crawled into bed and then said, "I got you a card but I forgot to sign it!" HA! But you know, he blesses me everyday. Do you know that I've only fed horses 4 mornings since we've been home from Russia. He gets up early everymorning to feed for me so I can stay in and do breakfast for Hudson. He doesn't want us to have to go out in the cold. Of course this will change when it warms up but it will be good for me and Hudson to get out of the house more, he LOVES being outside.

Sometimes I sit back and am overwhelmed at how much God has blessed me. I'm humbled because I know I don't even deserve the very breath I'm taking. I'm convicted because I take it all for granted and struggle with things I shouldn't. I'm just amazed at God's grace.

"H"

Here are the rules…If you want to play, leave a comment on this post letting me know, and I’ll assign you a letter. You write about ten things you love that begin with your assigned letter, and post it at your place. When people comment on your list, you give them a letter, and the chain continues on and on!My letter is "H". Thanks Maria, this is a good letter for me!!

1. Him- If it wasn't for His grace I don't know how I would make it. He's so good to me and I love Him with all of my heart.

2. Hudson-love him with all of my heart, too. He amazes me every day, countless times a day.

3. Husband-Jason is the love of my life, my very best friend.

4. Hoss-what Hudson calls my dad. Love my Dad, love, love, love him!

5. Horses-need I say more.

6. Hand me downs- I'm cheap and I have enjoyed the clothes others have passed on to me for Hudson.

7. Hank Williams Jr.-better not go into this one, then I'll end up talking about high school and college!

8. Home-I'm a homebody, love being at home.

9. Hairspray-okay I'm getting desperate here trying to come up with "H" words! I do like hairspray, but not the old lady kind, the dove kind that is moveable. When you have hair like mine you have to use it!

10. Honey-one of my favorite horses in the whole world, she is the sweetest.

Andy's face is too funny!

His new rocking chair from Jada

Things have been very busy. He spent most of Sat. with me at the horse show, he was so amazing and he spent 2 hours in the living quarters of the trailer napping. Today we spent the day at the vet with Jordan's horse so he is pretty tired since nap was a short one on the way home.
He is such an awesome child. It has been so much fun watching him come out of his shell. I love his personality. So often I look at him and tell the Lord how perfect he is for us, God is so good. It overwhelms me and I have to give my little man a big kiss.
If you haven't seen his smile in person and heard his laugh, you should come over and visit before lessons start back. I know we asked for people to wait until we were settled in and I feel like we are now so if you'd like to visit, just send me an e-mail. But know that you still can't hold him, sorry :(

My Little Farm Boy

Waving "Hi"!

We slipped down to my Grandfather's shed and he enjoyed the tractor, the very old tractor!

I had to get some pics of him in this henley since it's almost too small. He reminds me of Jason and my dad since they wear them all the time.

The weather is too nice today to not be outside, so I'm getting him back out after nap time and on a horse!

Growing!

He really enjoys making funny faces.

Can you tell he's really growing? Check out those full cheeks!

Another goofy face :)

He has definitely hit a growth spurt. I put him on the scale and he weighed 25lbs. He was 22 when we had him weighed in Moscow on Dec. 30. He is starting to fill out his 18 month clothes, woohoo! I'm excited because I have many cute 18 month clothes to put on him. I'm not sure if I put this on another post but his vocabulary is expanding here are the words he says (at least we can understand him :)
cup
Mom
Daddy
larry
light (this and larry sound the same)
tractor
bath
diaper
ear
bowl
Andy
Ball
He moo's, ba's like a sheep, snorts like a pig, and growls like a bear
He loves looking at books which makes me so happy since I love to read. He understands so much and spends most of the day babbling away. He loves to dance and I think he may have a little rhythm!!
He is just the most awesome little thing in the entire world!

Much to tell...hope you have time!

Isn't this cute! We had dinner with Jason's family on Saturday night to celebrate Jeanna's and Sheryl's birthdays. I snuck in and got Brian, Hudson, and Loretta watching a movie on Jason's old bed, too cute!
Saturday we went to the park in Pleasant View. He loved the slide!

I had some major static!!

Did I mention he loved the slide!!

Dad is so much fun!

He was looking at me saying "Ma"! He wasn't sure about walking in the mulch stuff. (Yes, I know my husband is a landscaper and I don't know what this footing is!)

I love this picture.

Is this face determined or what!!

He thought the dinosaur was cool.

He did NOT like swinging by himself at all. I wonder if it's because he probably spent so much time in a swing in the orphanage. I am assuming this b/c in the babies rooms there are lots of swings, we could see them through a window we walked by everyday at the orphanage.

Hanging out with Hoss and doing his version of patty cake.

I snapped this one as he was saying "Ma" and wanting me to pick him up!

According to Hudson the little wagon has multi uses, he wastrying to ride it on Saturday.

Uncle Marty

Wearing Grandad's hat.

This was his hair this morning!
This weekend was really great, I loved the weather and being able to get Hudson out of the house was awesome. Yesterday was one month of being home. I feel like Hudson has been with us forever, it definitely doesn't feel like only a month has passed by. He is such an amazing child, our amazing child!!
Yesterday was really awesome. We started the morning off late, though, sleeping until 9:15. Hudson had woke up at 4:45 and didn't go back to sleep until after 6:30, he's has 2 molars coming in. I put some stuff on his teeth and he wasn't fussy, he just had a hard time going back to sleep and of course I can't sleep if he's awake. But we rushed and made it to Sunday School and Church. I stayed in the nursery for Sunday School and then Jason and I have children's church this month (we do the game part) and I took Hudson down with us. I think we are going to have someone help Jason for the rest of the month so I can me and H. can stay in the nursery, I think it was too much. The kids were all great with him I think it just got a little overwhelming.
After church he had lunch and then nap and (du..du..du..) we went on our first "date". Aunt Casey and soon to be Uncle Will came up to the house while he slept. Jason and I really wanted Japanese food but we were too late and they were closed so Chili's it was. It was great to be us but my mind was constantly on Hudson. Was he sleeping, how long would he sleep, etc. I only called Casey like 4 times and sent her a few text's. After we ate we did something we used to always do, just drive! We went up to Guthrie and figured our way home through the back roads. Our timing was near perfect, we made it home 10 minutes after he woke up. Then he had a quick snack and we were outside! Rode the 4-wheeler and looked at the cows and then he helped feed horses and we walked around. Then had just a few minutes to get ready to go back to church.
Okay, I'll quit rambling just wanted to tell you all about our weekend!!
