Blastball!

As corny as it sounds, blastball really is a blast! Hot but lots of fun. He has 6 weeks of games and these pics are from his first one. The funny thing is when it's his turn to bat he runs so fast up to the plate but when he hits it and everybody is yelling ruuunnnn, he moves more like the turtle! Then when he gets to base, it honks, so he jumps up and down on it several times. At one point during the game he pulled his hat down over his face and walked around like a mummy! I just sit there and laugh, if that's one thing this child can do, it's get a laugh out of you!

Just like last night when we were on our way home from the horse show, he was getting Hollynn to say mama (yes, mama is her first word, it's awesome! I'm going to try and post a video of it). She said mamamamamama and then he said, "Mom, she said it!" I said, "Well, you are such a good teacher." To which he says: Hollynn, you want me to teach you spanish? Say gatto (not sure if I'm spelling it right, but it's cat in spanish). Say gatto. I asked him what does that mean? And in his best buzz lightyear voice he says, "It means to infiniti and beyond"!

I get winked at quite often!

She has two teeth coming through the top to match her two on the bottom! She now weighs 20.4 oz and had a third round of immunizations. She of course did not have the one that she is allergic to but I was still nervous about them. She did great. Fell asleep on the way home then she loves baths so they got one when we got home and the rest of the day you wouldn't have known she had 2 shots, she wasn't even fussy.

Usually when I lay her down she wakes up (unless it's her one long nap of the day), but not this night. So they both enjoyed a short nap. Doesn't her hair look like the color of his go tee (or however you spell it). He has some red in it and sometimes when I look at her I think she has a hint of red in her hair.

Oh, and better late than never, Happy Birthday to Jason (it was Monday). He is now the big 27! Are we getting old or what?

Swimming lessons were a blast for him. He did really good except he kills me how he is such a talker and always has a story to tell. I finally told his swim teachers that they just needed to tell him to do something instead of ask him. You ask him a question and he can somehow get from holding his breath under water to the booboo on his leg to tractors, etc. He NEVER stops talking!

These two are crazy about each other. Most of the time if she can just touch him she giggles. And he loves to make her laugh. Needless to say most of our days have LOTS of laughs in them :)

How cute is this camo?! My friend Lisa made if for her and I love to dress her in it and take her to the barn, my little county girl!

Spring Time...

This is our neighbor, Hannah, she went with us to our church's Easter Egg Hunt, they had a blast on the slides.

I love headbands, I think all I need is an orange one and we'll have all the colors :)

Peas, anyone? She was getting sleepy, but I'm sure she managed to finish her food :)

There are lots of deer, lions, bears, dinosaurs, etc. in our house. Thankfully we have sharp shooter H!

Easter

I was determined to get a picture of the 4 of us but it didn't happen. We haven't had a family picture together since the day I had Hollynn. But Easter morning we were rushing out the door. I had been waiting to take a shower since there were thunderstorms and I'm scared to shower while it's storming so as normal, we were rushing around like crazy getting ready.

It's been fun sharing the true meaning of Easter with Hudson this year, he's old enough to understand and I love watching the wheels in his head turn. He soaks everything up!

Faith Like My Child...

Yesterday (well, several days ago now, when I started this post) we were praying at breakfast and after Hudson prays he always has anyone who is there to pray as well. So as usual he said "Amen" to his prayer and said, "Go mom" and I said, "Thank you Jesus for our food and help us to have a great day." As soon as I said Amen, he looked at me and said, "Mom, I can't wait to have a great day today!" I melted right there in the kitchen. Oh to have faith like a child! Sometimes I get in such a routine with things that even my prayers are the same and I say great things but did I really put thought into it and mean it? He really made me stop and think. I don't want to get in such a routine that I'm just going round and round in the same ol' circle. You know what, we did have a great day yesterday! Hollynn was the best she's ever been away from me and Hudson just enjoyed himself no matter what he was doing (nothing out of the ordinary here!). I ran for a straight 15 minutes without thinking my insides were going to explode (yay for c section scar not killing me!). Thank you Lord for our great day!

Hollynn has been sitting up by herself for about a week and a half now and she can also pull herself up (started this 2 days ago)! She is starting to mimic Hudson and it just cracks us up.

We have a busy few weeks coming up and I'm really excited about it. Last year I was sick and Hudson didn't get to do all the fun things going on. But this year we have 3 Easter egg hunts lined up. Swim lessons start next Monday and last for two weeks and blast ball (sort of like tball, it's to prepare them for t and baseball) practice will be starting up soon. I'm pumped and I know I'm going to be one of those crazy mama's cheering my boy on (not crazy like on his case, just excited crazy :) I want to get us Carney shirts with his # on it but that may be a little to extreme since he's only 3 (haha!). He is so excited too, and asks me when he can play baseball every day.

Thankful...

Can you tell these two adore each other? I'm so thankful for them, always am, but this past week made me even more. I took Hollynn to get her immunizations on Wednesday and Hudson to get his ears checked to be sure the fluid was gone, which it was. By that afternoon Hollynn's face broke out in a rash and I called the after hours line and they told me not to worry about it. She was also cranky but at times unconsolible, I put it off on a regular reaction to the shots. I gave her some tylenol for her low fever and went on about my work and plans for church. Then she started straining really hard and I thought, what in the world did I eat to make her tummy hurt? So then I thought I had eaten something even though I had no clue what it was, surely I had given her diarrhea and caused the straining. It came and went that night and she went to sleep like normal. In the night I woke up and she was straining in her sleep so I picked her up and rocked her until she fell back into a deeper sleep. The next morning she was not hungry and so tired and from 9:30-12:30 I had changed 9 poopie diapers and now there was starting to be blood in them. I called the dr., they asked had she thrown up along with this? No. So she was going to talk to the dr. and call me back. As soon as I hung up the phone she threw up everywhere. So I called them right back and they had me bring her right in. There she had 2 more diapers with mucus/blood and by that point that's all it was. They sent us to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital E.R. When we got there they were ready for us and ran several tests, xrays, and an ultrasound. They were thinking she was having intussusception (where her intestines were telescoping inside themselves). The tests came back okay and they said it must have reversed on its own. She had been so lethargic it was scary and they had given her an iv, after that she perked up just a little. They sent us home with a list of "if this happens...come back". Well, we got home I put her in the bath and then fed her and she threw up everywhere again then went back lethargic. I immediately called and thankfully another Dr. talked to me (the first one seemed to just be rushing us out even though her symptoms hadn't changed). They told me to bring her right back. By the time we got 1/2 mile down the road, she had thrown up again and was very hard to wake up. Needless to say, the flashers were on and I drove like crazy to Vandy. She stayed in critical care that night, her x rays weren't good but by the time the ultrasound lady came in (at this point it was almost 4 a.m.) to get a better look it had reversed itself again. She had several more spells the next day and her stool started actually having stool in it and not just blood, so things were looking better. We finally got to go home on Saturday. It was a scary time and there were lots of people praying for her. Jason said it best when he was praying over her while in the hospital, he said something like, "We know that 'it reversed itself' really means that You reversed it Lord." The scripture I have been reading over and over here lately was the perfect sword, it was all about anxiety, worry, and trusting in the Lord. I'm so thankful He is trustworthy. I'm so thankful He healed her and no surgery was required. I'm so thankful she's back to her bright eyed happy little self. I'm thankful for sisters and sister in laws, grandparents, and all of our family who was right there to help us with any and everything.

And I missed Hudson so much, that's the longest I've been away from him. He stayed with Casey and had a blast. By the time the second night there though, he had a few tearful moments where he wanted his mommy! Mommy wanted him too! She said he would come up to her and say, "I need to go home and see my mommy then I will come back and play with you!" She would just distract him with something fun and they watched lion king 1 1/2 before bed so he wasn't thinking about his normal routine. Since they just moved back home he got to help Uncle Will put lots of things together so that was right up his alley!

Yesterday she had a follow up where there were more test results, our pediatrician is sure this was a reaction to the rotavirus vaccine. No more rotavirus vaccines in her future.

On a different note, she has a new record for bed time, last night: 11:15!!! And guess who couldn't fall asleep until after 1:00? I was wide awake, like, what do I do now? So I tossed and turned. Hopefully it won't take too long for me to fall asleep earlier because she seems to be more consistantly falling asleep towards 11:30/midnight :)
